Join the Movement with GreenCHILL™ Carbon-Neutral Green Refrigeration
Our GreenCHILL™ product is a biomass-powered refrigeration unit, which combines adsorption-based refrigeration with biomass combustion, offering clean cooling facilities to our users. A standalone biomass-powered refrigeration unit of 4 TR; 20 TR output is designed to be integrated with a cold room of 10 MT – 400 MT storage capacity. It uses proprietary adsorption refrigeration technology combined with a biomass combustion unit to provide hot water for driving the adsorption cycle.
We are tirelessly working to strengthen the cold chain infrastructure from farm to table without exerting additional pressure on the current national grid capacity.

How does it work?
GreenCHILL™ uses an Adsorption Refrigeration Cycle, in which refrigeration is produced by adsorption of the refrigerant. Unlike the vapour compression cycle, no compressor is used. The compressor is replaced by a three-step process achieved by the adsorber, and the desorber. The operation of vapour adsorption cycle is based on the ability of porous solids (the adsorbent) to adsorb vapour (refrigerant) when at low temperature, and to desorb it when heated.Combustion Process: The combustion in GreenCHILL™ is regulated by a computer system, like Internal Combustion (IC) engines.
Fuel Feed: Fuel is dispensed at specific intervals. The quantity and frequency are determined by the type of fuel and the required cooling power.
Control System: Automatic, computer-controlled. DX evaporators with electronic expansion valves.
Ash Removal: The grate is agitated to eliminate ash. The air supply can be turned off during this process to reduce fly ash production.
Fuel Distribution: The fuel is deposited on a grate, and agitated to ensure even burning. In larger GreenCHILL™ units, the biomass combusts before it reaches the grate, which reduces emissions and enhances energy efficiency.
Idling State: When the system reaches the pull-down temperature, the fuel supply can be decreased to 2% to maintain heat. This allows the system to restart immediately if the temperature rises.
Humidity Control: Via large evaporator design heat transfer area to minimise condensation to maintain humidity in cold rooms.
Temperature Monitoring: The temperatures of the fuel gases are monitored to optimise efficiency.
Installation requirements: Well-ventilated space, protected from rain and direct sunlight.
Evaporator Temperature can be set by user: -20°C to +20°C
IoT enabled:
The website www.greenchill365.com utilises Internet of Things (IoT) and Microsoft Azure IoT technologies to collect real time data of multiple parameters like temperature, pressure, etc. This is useful in the monitoring of systems, predictive maintenance and transparently calculating the Carbon Credits earned.
GreenCHILL™ Performance
GreenCHILL™ vs. Grid Powered Compressor
GreenCHILL™ is a refrigeration unit that uses waste to generate cooling, eliminating the need for grid power or diesel, the energy source for conventional compressors. It’s an eco-friendly solution for refrigeration and waste management.
How GreenCHILL™ Effectively Reduces Pollutants
GreenCHILL™ effectively reduces pollutants, with the emissions differing with each biomass type. The combustion in GreenCHILL™ is regulated by a computer system and the following mechanism is adopted:
PM 2.5
The GreenCHILL™ hot water generator is specifically designed for combustion of loose biomass with adequate air to reduce CO emissions below government norms. This is evident from the recent stack emission report. The cyclone filter, coupled with the hot water generator, removes soot, reduces particulate matter, and maintains flue gases as per pollution control norms.
NOx
In the GreenCHILL™ system, the combustion temperatures are maintained below 850°C. This is crucial because Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), harmful pollutants, only form at combustion temperatures above 1200°C, which is common in Internal Combustion (IC) engines.
SO2
Sulphur & Phosphorous reacts with Calcium, forming clinker particles, thus reducing SO2 release in the flue gas to negligible levels.
CO, HC
Eliminates Hydrocarbon (HC) and Carbon Monoxides (CO) pollutants emissions through efficient burning, the use of primary and secondary air, and maintaining 15% excess air. These measures ensure the absence of HC or CO in the flue gas.
C
Through efficient, complete, and slow combustion, the likelihood of carbon in the exhaust is reduced. Any remaining carbon is removed by a cyclone filter in the exhaust system.
VOCs
GreenCHILL™ takes both primary and secondary air from the bottom and sides with excess 15% air, so that Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) don’t get created out of the GreenCHILL™ process.
Fly Ash
The cyclone filter of GreenCHILL™ removes fly ash.
